Artimi, the fables simconductor company, has developed a wireless USB (WUSB) technology for cameras which may become an industry standard within the next 2 or 3 years.

WUSB technology allows users to wirelessly send pictures from a camera to a computer or printer.

WUSB is a new short-range, high speed wireless extension to the USB standard. It provides the speed and security of wired technology and is easy to use.

WUSB is based on ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless technology, capable of sending up to 480 Mb/s at distances of up to 3 m, and 110 Mb/s at up to 10 m.

The technology has potential to be used in the whole range of electronic devices such as game controllers, printers, scanners, digital cameras, MP3 players, hard drives, flash drives, and TVs.

Artimi hopes its WUSB technology for cameras will reach the market within a year.
