DisplayLink is planning to release a wireless USB adapter, to connect a computer to multiple monitors, in September or October 2008. It will also release wireless USB universal docking stations and monitors at the same time.
The company demonstrated a wireless version of its display adapter at CES 2008. The technology is ideal for organizations such as financial institutions, which use multiple monitors in their business operations.
DisplayLink’s technology includes a worldwide Wi-Media alliance-certified chipset provided by Alereon. This provides fast data transfer speeds and ensures that DisplayLink’s products are compatible with future wireless USB-enabled laptops and notebooks.
DisplayLink has also updated its wired technology to support Windows Vista. A free software upgrade is available from the company’s website, which allows all DisplayLink equipment to support the Windows Vista Aero 3D interface.
