Following the release last month of its SafeStick SuperSonic USB Flash drive, BlockMaster has now announced a major contract with Emergency Services in the West Midlands.

The company has supplied West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust with over 300 SafeSticks, as well as a SafeConsole management suite.

This will allow the organisation to manage, audit, reset passwords, and apply custom policies to all the drives.

BlockMaster is also providing 100,000 SafeSticks to NHS hospitals across the UK.

Tony Carne, Head of ICT at West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We have been delighted with the SafeSticks, their durability, compact size and military encryption levels. The SafeSticks have provided the reassurance that our data is protected no matter where or who it is with.”

SafeStick is claimed to be the fastest secure USB, processing data five times faster than comparative models while offering 256 bit AES encryption of hardware.
