Imation announces smallest USB drive

Permalink: Imation announces smallest USB drive

Imation has debuted its Atom Flash Drive which is just 1.5-in long, weighs less than an ounce and boasts up to 8GB of storage capacity.

1GB, 2GB, and 4GB versions are also available, ranging from $18 for the 1GB version to $100 for the top of the range drive.

With flash drives being increasingly used by businesses, security is a real issue, especially with tiny ones like the Atom which are all too easily lost.

Imation’s Atom Flash Drive addresses the problem with the inclusion of password protection and drive partitioning capabilities, providing data security.

The Atom drives come in silver-and-black and have a conventional removable cap, complete with loop for attaching to lanyards.

The drives are compatible with Vista ReadyBoost, which allows them to provide an extra memory cache.
