Staccato Communications, a Certified Wireless USB supplier, has launched the Ripcord1 Development Kit (DVK), designed to enable next generation solutions.

Staccato Communications aims to offer a choice of wireless connectivity solutions to customers, capable of delivering high data rate, minimal cost and prolonged battery life connectivity.

The Ripcord1 DVK reduces design complexity and ensures fast time-to-market for embedded designs. It will enable native WUSB device designs and is based on the Ripcord 1 family of single chip technology all-CMOS solution.

The development kit includes the Ripcord Control Library (RCL), a fully abstracted software library, together will all the required hardware, software and documentation, including an XScale PXA270-based Single-Board Computer (SBC) running embedded Linux.

It will enable developers to access and evaluate WiMedia MAC and PHY characteristics, and is available to all qualified customers.
