Equinox has announced its TubeStick hybrid USB TV receiver, which allows Mac users to watch, pause and record live TV on their machine in HD quality.

The device has a stylish, white casing, containing two receivers for watching digital over-the-air HDTV or digital (QAM) and analogue cable TV.

It comes with a one month trial of TubeToGo software, which supports scheduling, managing and publishing TV recordings via an iPhone or iPod touch while on the move. Users can also chat to each other during TV programmes.

TubeStick comes with a white compact antenna and a break-out cable, allowing users to connect to camcorders, analog video recorders, and game consoles using S-Video or Composite cables.

The device is designed to fit into the USB port of MacBooks and MacBook Pros without blocking other necessary plugs.

Equinox plans to start distributing the TubeStick hybrid in February for $130.
