Ultra Wideband wireless technology company, Staccato Communications, has secured Wireless USB certification, from the USB Implementers Forum, for its Ripcord SC3500 chip.

The Ripcord SC3500 is the first single-chip, all-CMOS product, to achieve this certification, which ensures seamless interoperability with multiple vendors.

The certification indicates that the chip is production-ready for peripheral devices.

The Ripcord SC3500 has already secured WiMedia Platform Certification in the USA, and TELEC Approval in Japan.

The latest USB Implementers Forum Certification allows Staccato to use the Wireless USB logo to indicate that products are compliant and interoperable with Wireless USB.

The Ripcord SC3500 series uses 110nm digital CMOS process technology and is offered as a Wafer Chip-Scale Package (WCSP).

It provides low system costs, simple integration, and a small form factor.
