3UK is launching a new mobile broadband service for UK customers offering download speeds of up to 2.8Mbps via HSDPA connectivity.

3’s new ‘Turbo’ network will allow its customers to browse the internet on a laptop via a unique USB modem.

The company hopes the service will extend mobile broadband from the business community to all its mobile customers, giving them fast access to the internet while on the move.

The service, which is available for a minimum £10 a month charge, will be rolled out across the UK from 4 September to 7 December.

3 is offering a range of tariffs with data allowances of 1GB, 3GB or 7GB for £10, £15 or £25 per month respectively.

To have the service delivered to a laptop, users will need the USB dongle, which costs £99 on a year contract, but is free on the higher tariff options.

Users simply plug the USB modem into their laptop and start browsing the web in seconds.
