A new EVDO USB Modem from Franklin Wireless is expected soon - the CDU680 - which is just a third of the size of previous EVDO USB Modems.

EVDO or Evolution Data Only/Evolution Data Optimized, provides a 3G internet service directly to a computer.

The portable modem allows a user to connect to the internet on the move, whether on a train or in an airport for example.

The CDU680 USB modem features a 64MB flash drive, built-in GPS and antenna port for external signal boost.

Windows XP/2000, Mac OS X, and Linux Connection Managers are already loaded on to the installed flash drive, so there is no need to carry a CD with you.

The modem is pre-configured for PC/ Mac and has a swivel base USB connector.
