The Thanko USB pen looks like an everyday pen, but includes a hidden voice recorder and MP3 player.

The pen comes in either 512-MB or 1-GB capacity, and will hold between 32 and 68 hours of audio.

It connects to a computer via USB, allowing audio, MP3s and other data files to be transferred.

The battery lasts for around three hours per charge, but it could still be a useful tool for students and journalists.

An LED light indicates which function is in use - green when it is playing music, orange when recording or yellow when playing back a previous recording.
