ATP Electronics Inc, a leading manufacturer of flash and DRAM memory solutions, introduced the EarthDrive at CES 2008 in Las Vegas.

The environmentally-friendly flash drive’s casing is made of bio-recycled plastics and is also recyclable, and the drive is waterproof, dustproof and shock proof.

ATP also launched Project: EarthDrive at CES - a partnership with the American Global Forest Re-Leaf program under which a proportion of the profits from the sale of the drives will help replant trees both in the US and globally.

EarthDrive is due to go into mass production and will be available in range of sizes, from 1GB to 8GB, priced from $19.99 to $99.99.

ATP is developing two more environmentally-friendly designs - one using cork and the other using plant-based materials.
