Corsair, a leader in the design and manufacture of high-speed memory modules, has expanded its range of Flash Voyager(TM) USB2.0 drives to include new 16GB capacities.
The new 16GB drive significantly increases the amount of data users can carry. With 16GB of storage capacity, the drive can easily store up to 8 full-length, high definition movies or over 20 CDs. It is enclosed in all-rubber Flash Voyager housing which makes the product resistant to water and able to perform reliably in extreme conditions.
The 16GB Flash Voyager includes a security application that allows users to create a hidden, password-protected partition on the USB drive. The password is encrypted with 256bit AES encryption, the most secure encryption algorithms available. It is also equipped with the latest controller technology.
The drive is bootable and allows user to store a full version of Microsoft(R) Windows(TM) operating system and configure the PC to boot from USB. With the large capacity of the drive, this means that IT managers can troubleshoot from station to station with all the applications and files necessary to perform desktop support.
The 16GB USB drive delivers sustained read and write performance at 22MB/sec and 7MB/sec respectively. It uses new flash controller technology and features 8 bit Error Correcting Codes (ECC). This is the highest code scheme for flash based controllers currently available. ECC enhances the reliability of the product and allows the drive to continue to operate even after repeated use over time.
The device comes with a 10-year warranty and on-demand customer support and is available through Corsair’s authorized distributors, resellers, retailers and e-tailers worldwide.
