Data storage specialist, Verbatim, has continued the expansion of its Store ‘n’ Go range with the release of new Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB drives, providing up to 8GB of storage.
The tiny drives measure just 30mm long, 12mm wide and 2mm thick, and weigh in at 1.2 grams.
Obviously, at that size, they are going to be easy to use, but they can be attached to a key ring, PDA or cell phone which should solve this problem.
There’s no need to worry too much about damaging them either, as they are resistant to shock, water, electrostatic discharge and dust.
The drives come in a range of storage capacities and colours – the 2GB drive costs £9.99 and comes in orange, the 4GB costs £14.99 and has a green casing, while the purple 8GB drive costs £19.99.
The drives are optimized for Windows and Mac users and provide read write speeds of up to 30MB/sec and 13MB/sec for the 4GB and 8GB devices and up to 19MB/sec and 9MB/sec for the 2GB device.
To provide such a large storage capacity in such a small drive, Verbatim has utilised new system-in-package (SIP) technology, which encapsulates all of the electronic components into a single miniaturised and sealed unit.
To ensure the security of data stored on the drives, Verbatim has included password security features.
If the capacity of these drives isn’t enough for you, Verbatim launched the Executive USB drive, and the USB Mini Swivel back in January, both of which hold up to 32GB of data.
