Pinnacle launches Video Transfer Unit

Pinnacle Systems Inc launched the Video Transfer unit at CES 2008 in Las Vegas, a device which converts video files into a format that can be played on a portable media player without the need for a PC.
The unit connects any device with a composite video or S-Video output, such as a camcorder, to any USB2 mass storage device and then stores the video on the storage device.
The video transfer unit creates MPEG4 video files which can be played on an iPod or PSP.
Three different recording levels are provided, with the higher quality levels producing a file of a larger size.
The Pinnacle Video Transfer will be available in February 2008, priced at around £100.
