SanDisk’s USB Drive Transfers Movies To TV

SanDisk has developed a USB Drive to transfer multimedia content from a PC to a TV, which will be distributed in Spring/Summer 2007.
Video or other media stored on a PC can be dragged and dropped onto the media-enabled flash drive. The drive is then simply plugged into a small dock which connects to any TV via S-video or composite AV connections which are standard on modern televisions.
The dock also has audio connections which play audio files stored on the drive when activated with an included remote.
The USB drive eliminates the need to burn DVDs or use networking equipment or wiring.
Internal hardware in the drive produces much higher data transfer rates than standard USB 2.0 devices, meaning that there shouldn’t be any lag when videos are played back.
All major video codecs are installed in the device which has a built in media player to handle playback on the TV.
