BitArmor upgrades DataControl security solution

BitArmour has released a new version of its DataControl solution, promising greater security for data carried on USB drives, sent as an email attachment or transferred via FTP.

The innovative solution protects the data itself by attaching a Smart Tag to the data.

This means that even if employees are using unsecured USB sticks to transport data, security will be maintained and the data can be tracked and controlled.

The new version of BitArmour allows files to be securely transported and accessed on non-work or unprotected systems without the need to install a DataControl control agent.

When the data is dragged and dropped onto a USB device it will be protected. There is the option to assign a password, and email the data to a business contact.

A new BitArmor Control Sentry application allows users to supply the right password so that the protected document can be accessed.
