Sony has announced the availability of the VAIO USB Docking Station with network display technology from DisplayLink.

DisplayLink’s technology allows users of VAIO notebooks to connect multiple monitors via the USB 2.0 connection in the docking station.

External DVI or VGA displays up to 1600×1200 can be connected.

Other features of the docking station include four USB ports, Ethernet connections and full audio in/out.

VAIO AR, CR, FW, FZ and NR notebooks running Windows 2000,, Vista and XP are compatible with the docking station, which is priced at $200.

The docking station can also be used with other notebooks that have USB 2.0 connections.
