Vodafone has released the ‘pebble’, its first 7.2Mbps capable USB modem.

The HSDPA modem provides 3G connectivity for Windows PCs and Macs at up to 7.2Mb/s maximum download speed, while uploads are expected to run to 384Kb/s.

The modem is available immediately for £49 with an 18-month, £25pm flat rate Mobile Broadband contract.

The price goes up to £99 with a 12-month contract. A pay as you go deal is also available at £170 for the modem and £8.50 for 24 hours’ online time.

A fair usage policy applies, with a cut-off at 3GB for a monthly plan but just 500MB for pay-as-you-go customers in any one month.

The modem is available at Vodafone’s website.
