hField Technologies has launched a Windows Vista compatible version of its Wi-FireTM long-range USB WiFi Adapter.

The company has also launched the Wi-Fire Connection Manager 2.0 software, which fully integrates with both Windows XP and Vista operating systems.

The Wi-FireTM long-range USB WiFi Adapter features an integrated high gain directional antenna, which coupled with strong receive sensitivity, allows Vista laptop users to connect to WiFi networks wherever they are located.

The 802.11 adapter provides connection to a WiFi network from up to 1,000 feet, giving three times the range of other 802.11 adapters.

It also provides faster speeds and will operate in locations where connection was not previously possible.

The compact device measures just 3 inches by 4 inches and is 3/8-inch thick. It folds up with its mounting device and USB cable, making it easy to carry.

Wi-FireTM is priced at $79.00 and is available now.
