Hampshire-based IT storage manufacturer, Origin Storage, has launched Amacom Data Locker.

The Data Locker Secure Drive, with USB 2.0 interface and power, is secured by a 6-18 digit PIN number.

The user enters the PIN directly onto the device’s LCD keypad, ensuring the safety of data if the device is lost or stole.

The PIN can be changed via the keypad, which can also be used to activate and de-activate the encryption function, and to wipe the drive clean.

A hardware based encryption chip provides military grade AES / CBC mode encryption.

Data Locker is available in three different storage capacities: 160GB, 320GB and 500GB, with prices ranging from £199 to £275 excluding VAT.

Three different levels of security are available:

  • Data Locker Personal: Consumer and Education
  • Data Locker Pro AES: Corporate and Local Government
  • Data Locker Enterprise: Military and transportation of mission critical data
  • Origin Storage is demonstrating Amacom Data Locker at Infosecurity Europe from 28th – 30th April 2009 at Earls Court, London.
