Artimi Inc., is demonstrating Wireless USB connectivity for next-generation digital cameras at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) 2007 International Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas.

Artimi’s high-speed Wireless USB standards-based technology means that photos can be taken and downloaded directly to a photo printer, computer or display monitor at speeds up to 480Mbps.

Using WiMedia-based ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, Wireless USB is up to 90 times faster than WiFi-enabled cameras. It is also faster than the speeds available with wired USB cables.

Artimi’s WiMedia-based UWB technology will also be used for next-generation Bluetooth. Next-generation, high-speed Bluetooth wireless connectivity will allow users to share digital photos or video directly from mobile handsets.

Low-power wireless USB allows users to download and share photos in seconds, without draining the battery or having to carry extra cables.

Wireless USB dongles and hubs providing high-speed wireless connectivity for cameras, computers and printers will be available later this year. Digital cameras with embedded Wireless USB will be available during the first half of next year.
