Avid, the consumer product division of Pinnacle Systems, has launched two new USB TV tuner devices for the Mac.

The Pinnacle TV for Mac Sticks transform a Mac into a TV receiver/recorder. They come complete with EyeTV Lite software from Elgato and connect to the Mac using a USB 2.0 port.

Two versions of the product are available. The Pinnacle TV for Mac DVB-T Stick, which retails for £59.99, enables European users to watch, time shift and record digital TV and radio (DVB-T) shows.

The more sophisticated Pinnacle TV for Mac Hybrid Stick costs £89.99. It provides the same functionality as the DVB-T Stick and also allows reception of analogue television broadcasts and video-capture.

The devices come complete with a remote control and an A/V adaptor cable enabling video to be imported from a camcorder or VHS player.
