Digital Vision has launched an affordable solution to recording and transporting TV programmes.

The GiGo DV DTR1 has three USB ports and a Freeview tuner, allowing Freeview programming to be recorded and stored onto any USB memory device in MPEG2 format.

The user can even record one channel while simultaneously watching one of the shows they have already recorded.

Once stored on a USB stick users can carry their favourite programmes with them to watch on a laptop, whatever their location.

The device even offers access to the electronic programme guide, so that a timer can be set to record shows.

The low price reflects the fact that the device has no hard drive.

At £66.99 the GiGo DV DTR1 it is an affordable alternative to a DVR and will be available from Tesco in September.
