Samsung has announced a 22-inch UbiSync monitor, the SyncMaster 2263DX.

Details are still sketchy, but the monitor can be connected via USB 2.0 rather than DVI / VGA.

The announcement closely follows the launch of the Samsung SyncMaster 940UX USB 19in flat-panel monitor in November.

The monitors can help to significantly increase PC productivity and are designed to make it easy to set up multiple flat panels via a simple USB cable which plugs into the PC.

Samsung’s DisplayLink DL-120 chip receives a compressed video stream via the USB interface and sends it over to the flat-panel monitor. Up to six flat panels can be used at once.
