Wireless semiconductor manufacturer, Artimi, has gained Wireless USB certification from the USB implementers forum, for its Artimi A-150 chip.

The chip has been certified as a silicon building block for wireless USB devices, and supports manufacturers in gaining product-level Certified Wireless USB status.

Artimi provides manufacturers with application-optimised designs and Zero Install(TM), for the quick and easy integration of Certified Wireless USB into consumer electronic products.

The Artimi A-150 is a highly integrated, low power UWB WiMedia MAC with embedded I/O processor, which offers Ultra Simple Connectivity(TM).

The chip, which is designed for use in PC peripherals and power-sensitive devices, is optimised to provide the highest real user throughput and Zero Install.

Artimi is shipping the A-150 now in volume quantities.
