Icron Technologies has announced the WiRanger Cable Free USB 2.0 Hub - the first wireless USB 2.0 hub in the world which is based on an industry standard 802.11g radio.

The WiRanger 4-port hub-and-dongle set wirelessly connects USB devices, including printers, scanners, hard drives, digital cameras, and MP3 players to either PC or Macs throughout a building.

WiRanger uses ExtremeUSB technology from Icron. There is no need to install special software or adjust user configuration and the hub has a range of up to 30 meters, making it ideal for SoHo setups and even a single user computer.

The hub is compatible with both USB 1.1 or 2.0 connections over virtually any media, including wireless, cable, power line, or fibre optics.

WiRanger USB 2.0 Cable Free Hub will retail for around $395.
