NXP Semiconductors’ wireless USB controller, the ISP3582, is the company’s first to be certified by the USB Implementers Forum. The chip can handle data at 480Mbit/s.

The ISP3582 has been certified for wireless USB Specification 1.0, and combines a Registered PHY from Realtek which is certified as compliant to the WiMedia PHY specification.

NXP, together with leading module manufactuer Murata, is also developing a small form factor USB module of less than 1.5cm sq.

The ISP3582 controller can be integrated into the module, which can be placed in portable devices such as mobile phones and MP3 players,

The module shortens the time to market, while providing high-speed connectivity between devices.

The ISP3582 wireless USB device controller is available now, while the LTCC module will begin sampling in Q1 2008.
