IronKey Inc has released an 8GB version of its secure USB drive, providing military grade hardware-encryption which cannot be disabled.

Tampering with the device, or a pre-determined number of failed login attempts, will cause the IronKey Cryptochip to lock out the encryption functions and erase all the encrypted data.

The rugged, waterproof drive, is suitable for use in the toughest environment, and can be used without the need to install software or drivers.

The 8GB drive is available from the company’s website for $299.
