A newly updated version of the popular USBTrace, has been unveiled by developer SysNucleus. The Windows, host side USB protocol analyser software will permit developers of drivers and filmware to carefully monitor USB traffic via host controllers, hubs & devices. And this new software will allow for that monitoring without the need for any outside hardware utilities.

The new software is intended to aid developers by reducing time spent on tedious debugging sessions by providing clear, quality data with regard to USB requests working their way through the different levels in the USB device stack. The packets of data are captured by the software, so that they can easily be decoded and then clearly and concisely displayed for simplified analysis.

As well as these useful functions the upgraded USBTrace is capable of also decoding captured class specific USB data packets, these include the ubiquitous still image captures, Bluetooth, hub, WUSB host wire adapter, HID and so on.

The new software tool is also capable of supporting either 64-bit or 32-bit Windows Vista, Windows 2003 Server Windows XP and Windows 2000.
